It’s Been a Minute

In spite of the world seeming to be swirling the drain, life does go on. Yvonne and I missed out on coming to Delray last year (2021) because of that COVID thing. You may have heard about it.

But we’re back this year, and I decided to finally do something about the Section 6 map that gets published every year in the directory. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

New and Vastly Improved

The addresses on this map are all in the same direction. They’re legible. The map is interactive: it’ll be published behind the login on the https://www.highpointsection6.com/ website. I’ll also try to have it on this site; but only after I add a similar login.

It’s searchable, by first or last name. In the image above, you can see all the houses with the text “green” in the names, highlighted in orange. And when you click one of the houses the names and phone numbers appear in a pop-up dialog. (The names and numbers appearing here are mocked for privacy reasons.)

Finally, the map can be zoomed in and out, to help people with decreased eyesight.

I am planning on adding more features as time goes on. If you have any ideas, please do let me know.

There’s more to do before launching this project, and that will probably happen near the end of the year, or beginning of next. Big happenings when we return to Toronto, shortly; so won’t have a lot of time to dedicate to the map.

In the meantime, I wish you all good health, good fortune, and safe travels.
